Nutritional Coaching

During coaching, we go one step further together. In addition to drawing up a nutrition plan, it is generally about what form of nutrition you are generally aiming for or what makes sense to achieve your goals. It should be noted that our nutrition coaches do not adhere to any particular nutritional philosophy or diet.

During the consultation, we make sure that the plans are tailored to your nutritional requirements and that you can pursue your goals in a healthy and sustainable way.

In principle, nutritional counselling is suitable for anyone who wants to pursue certain goals through nutrition. Here are just three examples of groups of people who can benefit from counselling.

The process

Both counselling and coaching are preceded by an initial consultation. Here we talk about what it generally means to achieve a nutrition, weight or health goal. We also talk about your personal goals and your previous diet and habits. Of course, any intolerances or allergies will also be discussed.

This appointment includes

  • Determination of goals

  • Body analysis

After our first conversation, you will draw up a weekly plan in which you record – quite honestly – what you have eaten and when. This gives us a common basis on which we can talk about your preferences and your everyday life. Especially when it comes to nutrition, we achieve little with coercion, but all the more with fun and enjoyment.

It is also helpful to adapt the plans to your everyday life. For example, do you have time to shop and cook? These are also important factors that we will take into account when drawing up the nutrition plan and during further counselling or coaching

During the nutritional counselling (3 appointments), we adjust your nutrition plan with regard to the most important factors: fats, proteins and carbohydrates. You will receive a plan with dishes and, if necessary, recipes that you can use to create a healthy balance that suits you with regard to these three factors.

During coaching, we can take an even more goal-specific approach: Which and how many nutrients do you need so that you can achieve your specific goals, what adjustments can we make?

As part of the coaching programme, we have enough time to adjust the nutrition plan again and again. At the end of both programmes, there are final meetings in which we draw conclusions together about the plans drawn up and the goals achieved up to that point.

We also give you recommendations on how you can successfully continue with the plans after our support.

‘Healthy Habits for Happiness’ is the motto of TANITA, the experts in measuring devices, which also fits perfectly with our understanding of successful nutritional counselling. TANITA’s bioelectrical impedance analysis (BIA) is a particularly useful element of nutritional advice at the Nuremberg Sports Centre. With the help of a special body analysis scale, the body composition can be measured in a very differentiated way and thus progress can be optimally measured and continuously improved.

How the BIA technology works

A weak, safe electrical signal is sent through the body. Depending on the resistance and factors such as age, height and gender, the scale determines meaningful measurements such as Body fat percentage, visceral fat, body water percentage, muscle mass, muscle distribution, body composition value, bone mass, basal metabolic rate, metabolic age. Our team of trainers will be happy to provide you with further information.

FAQ

Nutritional counselling generally makes sense from the age of around 16 if there is an interest in optimising nutrition specifically to support sporting or health goals. For younger people, the counselling should be carried out in consultation with the parents and with special consideration of growth.

Yes, we attach particular importance to this at the Nuremberg Sports Centre. Our nutritionists create plans that take into account your preferences, intolerances or diets (e.g. vegan) as well as your goals, so that you can adapt your diet in the long term if that is what you are aiming for.

Yes, that is of course possible. Membership of Sportcentrum Nürnberg is not a prerequisite for booking nutritional counselling or nutritional coaching with us.

The frequency of counselling sessions depends on your goals and needs and we will be happy to agree this with you individually at the Nuremberg Sports Centre. For nutritional coaching in particular, which consists of 10 sessions in total, sessions every one to two weeks generally make sense.

Nutritional counselling at Sportcentrum Nürnberg consists of three appointments, while coaching consists of 10 sessions. In nutritional counselling, we focus on three main nutritional components: carbohydrates, proteins and fat. In nutrition coaching, also known as nutritional support, we take a more goal-specific approach at the Nuremberg Sports Centre, taking a look at your entire diet if necessary and defining several adjustments you can make. In both programmes, we pay attention not only to your physical needs, but also to your mental needs and your previous beliefs.
